Ran in to the Casper Annual Art in the Park Show today while driving around at lunch time at Mike Sedar Park. It was a beautiful day and I decided to get out and go for a walk, unfortunately, without my pups. Stumbled on the sign about the art show and decided to take a look.
Wow, we have some talented artists in this town. This turned out to be a really nice way to spend some time in the afternoon.
The event was hosted by the Casper Artists’ Collective and Art on the Go. They showcased artists with their beautiful crafted woodwork, nice jewelry, gorgeous paintings of all kinds, as well as pottery and other hand crafted fare.
One of the artists that I stopped to see was sitting there making a painting while I watched. One of his paintings had caught my eye, so I visited with him for a few minutes. Turns out, this was the first time he had done something like this. He should do more.
Also, on had was a band-Kevin Paul’s Ghost was playing when I got there. There were two others that I did not get to see-The Corey McDaniels Duo and Chase Mangus’s one man band.
After enjoying the music and checking out all of the art vendors, I wandered over to the food truck area for some lunch, but sadly, was not able to grab a brew from Oil City Brewery. What I particularly appreciated was that fact that all were locals. Nice to support the local talent and businesses.
Oh, and I must not forget the raffle they offered. The pictures were beautiful. I did put my name in for one, but had to leave ahead of time. Hope I win.
